designed for the 2023 Design Build Utah - River View House

The River House was built in part with Design- Build Utah. The small home incorporated an exterior-finished sunroom as a means of solar heat gain and needed an operable fixture to ventilate in warmer months. I worked as part of a small team to design and build a mechanicly operable hangar door, within a two thousand dollar budget, using surplus steel to offset the expense of mechanical components.

I designed and fabricated the gizmo portion of the build including the dual-cable counterweight system, chain-driven hand crank wheel, and sheave pulley brackets. The door was built in Salt Lake and installed near Bluff, Utah.
